A free program of music incursions offered by Southern Cross Soloists (SXS). Developed with input from Queensland music teachers, the program offers flexible incursion options: in classroom or instrumental music classes; singe-grade or multi-grade groups. Band Together incursions are curriculum- aligned, and provided by the musicians of SXS, an acclaimed musical ensemble. The vision of the program is to engage young ears, minds and hearts through music making, theory and composition. It places students’s creativity and energy at the centre of the program.

Key learning outcomes
Music Making, Theory and Composition
Our programs are interactive, curriculum-aligned, and designed to strengthen classroom music, instrumental pathways, and teacher development across year levels. Each incursion has a specific focus whether that be sound and instrument exploration, graphic score interpretation and composition or performance based, all participants will reap the benefits of hearing live professional classical music and playing together with our SXS musicians.
